About this year's Festival:
This year the Festival lasts for two days. The first day we are presenting the touchingly poetic film by the Croatian author Davor Sanvincenti "Places we'll breathe” (2022), a film that won numerous awards at regional film festivals. Then there is "Blue Heart" (2018) by Britton Caillouette, a film documenting the struggle to preserve wild rivers in Albania, Bosnia and Hercegovina, and Croatia.
On the second day of the Festival, we are presenting always relevant blockbuster that was chosen thanks to the inspiration provided by the eco-feminist program of this year's Environmental Film Festival. That is the famous and largely acclaimed film „Erin Brockovich“ (Steven Soderbergh, 2000), embodied on the screen by the unique Julia Roberts. The manifest of this year's Festival is short: the struggle for clean air and water is the struggle for life, and that struggle cannot be postponed for the coming generations.
Also, this year for the first time we are having a workshop for children under the title „Our Adriatic“, where we are watching a few Croatian shorts on the theme of the Adriatic Sea.

About authors
Davor Sanvincenti has been intensively tackling the area of phenomenology and anthropology of visual culture, focusing on questioning different states and forms of human perception. His artistic work is ramified in different media: film and video, photography, physical light and sound installations, and audiovisual performances. In his works he deals with the concept of illusion, researching the possible limits of perception and construction of experiences.
Britton Caillouette won the battle with cancer when he was 16, losing a leg in the process. He decided that he wouldn’t be defined by his tribulations but rather use them to feed the passion he has for life and for producing great work. A student of history with a keen eye for photography, he directed his first documentary in war-torn West Africa while an undergraduate at Stanford. The habitual risk-taker, who loves challenging production situations, has brought his honest style of visual storytelling to brands like Ford, Levi’s, Patagonia, Nike, and Apple. Caillouette worked on such films as Unbroken Grounds (2016), which explains the critical role food will play in the next frontier of humanity's mission to solve the environmental crisis.
Steven Soderbergh is an American film director, producer, screenwriter, cinematographer, and editor. A pioneer of modern independent cinema, Soderbergh is an acclaimed and prolific filmmaker. Soderbergh's directorial breakthrough indie drama Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989) lifted him into the public spotlight as a notable presence in the film industry. At 26, Soderbergh became the youngest solo director to win the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, and the film garnered worldwide commercial success, as well as numerous accolades. His films have grossed over US$2.2 billion worldwide and garnered fourteen Academy award nominations, winning five.
