URBANOLOGIES

Urbanologies comprise AIIR activities which tackle urban research, various forms of urbanity and urbanism, spatial theories as well as urban anthropology and sociology, and visual anhropology.

One of the first comprehensive research processes that we initiated, dedicated to Zagreb City district Maksimir, was at the sam time also the first interdisciplinary research on one city district carried out in Croatia. Research project "Space of Identity, Space of Interaction, Space of Alteration" (SISISA) in which participated Dafne Berc, Dino Igrec, Elke Krasny, Sonja Leboš, Fedor Kritovac, Kristina Rismondo and other colleagues, as well as 500 pupils of the XV. High School, resulted in the publication of the same title that you can find in our urbanological archive.

"SISISA" project was followed up by the projects res urbanae and aRs PUBLICAe (more in our urbanological archive). Both projects were initiated in 2010. Res urbanae dealt with the objects in private and public ownership while pointing to the lack of maintenance of the latter, while aRs PUBLICAe has been primarily dealing with the questions of art in public space.
