Mnemosyne - archeologies of the common future

Mnemosyne is a collaborative, research&educational as well as advocacy platform which brings together academics, activist and expert organizations and NGOs, and independent researchers with a long experience in the field of cultural and artistic production and tradition of social engagement in the societies of SE Europe.
Platform's activities are strategically conceptualized, thematically profiled and organizationally unified so that they can enable functional linking of particular formats of project activities in research, educational, practical&performative, and advocacy domains, as well as that they can enable the sustainable and continuous collaboration of the partner organizations on the level of further conceptualization, methodological elaboration and practical implementation of
those formats.
Mnemosyne content-wise complements already existing activities of the partners in local environment, enables overcoming the lack of national administrative preconditions for the existence of continuous flow of information, permanent debating, as well as communication and exchange of ideas and practices of cultural and artistic production in Europe.

Platform Mnemosyne has a mission
:

1) establishing of the transnational endowment whose aim is to incite artistic and cultural production, the art of public and common good, performances and installations, educational and discursive symposia on the locations of transcultural memorial legacy of the architect Bogdan Bogdanović in the countries of all partners involved.
2) implementation of transnational approaches to historiography of historical events since the 1980s till today, with the emphasis on the peace movements and with a strong critique of nationalist paradigm via a) gender sensitive reading of contemporary history, 2) spatial turn in historical science, but also in humanities en general.

The reason for the platform coming into being is:

-to lobby for the right on transnational cooperation as in the fields of art&culture so in the fields close to the one of art&culture, and those are the educational field as well as other segment of political and public life as press and freedom of speech that does not imply the right on speech of hatred;

-to resist critically the ideological mechanisms o ethno-nationalism;ideološkim mehanizmima etno-nacionalizama;

- to deconstruct "Blut und Boden" ideologemes and warmongering media strategies that led to the bloody war in the 1990s, but which also persist nowadays in maintaining the regional version of global state of emergency;

- to analyze in detail the deconstruction of the socialist mechanisms of protection of workers, also to articulate the problem of decomposing the fundaments of societal ownership (typical for the socialist Yugoslavia) on the very case-studies  (Bor, Mostar, Vukovar, Šibenik, Trepča, Zadar) ;

- to examine the dominant system of glorification of warriors' castes  glorifikacije ratničkih kasti, odnosno 'cultural heritage of war' (Vjollca Krasniqi).
